Happy Father’s Day if that applies to you. Or Happy Sky Daddy Day. Sunday…the Day of the Lord. Or the Sun. Today also happens to be Summer Solstice which means summer officially begins at 11:31 PM tonight. Lastly, it’s also Cancer Season Eve! With so much going on it’s important to stay hydrated and mind your own business forever.

In honor of yesterday’s Juneteenth celebrations, I will also discuss six topics. Let me show you how I got to that figure:

The Three-fifths Compromise of 1787 stated that each enslaved person were to count as three-fifths of a free person when figuring a state’s population. Population numbers determine a state’s number of seats in the House of Representatives, and more importantly…how much tax they had to pay.

3/5ths of the usual 10 topics = 6 topics.

Let’s chat, shall we?

LATE

6) Megan vs Da Baby & Tory Lanez

On Juneteenth of all days, Texas rap vixen Megan Thee Stallion came for Da Baby for doing a song and video with her alleged foot shooter, Tory Lanez. The song apparently was recorded before Tory allegedly shot Megan, but the video just came out this week. So much intra-black fighting on our Day of Liberation!

I refuse to watch the music video, but I saw clips of Tory Lanez dressed up like MJ in Thriller and I think Blanket, Paris and Prince should sue his tiny pants off. I have no desire to watch two mediocre miniature men in collaboration or separately.

Da Baby was previously a frequent collaborator of Megan’s so she feels like he should have her back. He claims he still does, even though he’s promoting a song with her abuser:

As we know, this is the music BUSINESS and in business… it’s money over morality. But how do you feel about this? Is an enemy of your friend (or business partner) your enemy too? How far does your loyalty go….or do other people’s disagreements have nothing to do with you?

5) 2021 XXL Freshman Cover

This cover is purely a “post pandemic” cover and that’s no shade…

I’m not saying the people on the cover aren’t talented I fucks with like 2-3 of them but I just…don’t care? My favorite year of XXL Freshman was 2016 for this iconic freestyle, where Kodak starts his rap “Who the fuck picked this lil sorry ass beat?” Classic.

I hope they’ve already taped this year’s cypher because one of the 2021 Freshman, Pooh Shiesty remains behind bars for the allegations we discussed last week.

In a I-told-you-so update, this week Shiesty’s alleged victim, the security guard came out this week saying he doesn’t remember telling police that Shiesty shot him:

Like I said, don’t play with this man.

NEITHER HERE NOR THERE

4) Kanye Unfollows The Kardashians… I Follow Suit

As one does in a breakup, Kanye West has reportedly unfollowed The Kardashians on Twitter. In Black solidarity, I have done the same across all of my platforms. With this high profile split…do we really need to still follow this family? Kanye was the coolest thing about them to begin with except for North and maybe Stormi.

The only Kardashian related account that you need to follow is Nori’ Black Book. This hilarious account speaks in the fictional but true voice of North West. And of course, like most good things it’s run by a black woman.

3) Juneteenth as a National Holiday

I do not mean to discredit the decades of black organization around getting this holiday to be recognized on a national scale, and I fully accept the day off.

But should everyone get the day off? This is about Black people working for free… and now white people get to not work? That feels like it defeats the whole purpose.

As many people pointed out, the holiday and day off feel like gaslighting a bit…here is your ONE day off for hundreds of years of free labor and here are some red and green LEDs on monuments that mean nothing:

Many Black issues remain unsolved, and we are still dying in the street with no repercussion or REPARATIONS ( I want my money!)

In America’s defense she doesn’t have the heart, or the money to give us what we’re owed. But I don’t care if she has to go into debt to give me what’s owed. I would like my student loans entirely removed from my private university, even if I’m almost done paying them myself. I want several thousands of dollars outside of that and a fresh credit line. And maybe a white maid.

GREAT

2) Trina vs. Eve Verzuz

I feel bad for originally groaning at this match up. This Verzuz gave me my ENTIRE life. It is truly incredible to see how many bangers both Trina and Eve have, and the warm feelings I felt (literally sweat from dancing too) as I got my life during this Verzuz.

Originally I kind of thought Eve was going to wash Trina because of her lyrical skill and range (see: "Love is Blind." & cultural appropriator(?) Gwen Stefani collabs) But Verzuz is about more than catalogue to me: it’s about your outfit (they both lost there), your stage presence (Trina won) and your strategy (Trina).

Eve was remote in London, where her Billionaire mans is from and Trina was in the club with fifty-leven people in Miami. Eve kept remarking “I wish I was there with yall!” like ten times…and that’s not how you come to win a competition. Eve didn’t even play her remix of Michael Jackson’s “Butterflies,” to let you know where her mind was at — not in the game.

Both of these women are beautiful and absolute legends with hits upon hits. I love that for them and for us too.

1) I am Black

Even if America is about to slut out Juneteenth and make it a consumer holiday…I take great pride in the “liberation” of my people, though we have so far to go.

Being Black is the greatest joy of my life next to being a woman. I truly feel like I lucked out to be in a group of such graceful, resilient genius.

As a cynical person who thrives off of people who doubt her, being Black and living out loud is the best form of activism one can do. I love to know that some people out there dislike me because I’m beautiful…it keeps me going.

The story of Black People in America is one of perseverance, defeating every odd. The epitome of keeping the faith.

We are proof that God is real and manifestation works. Had we truly believed we were really niggers, we’d still be in chains today. Talk about knowing your self worth. Black people liberated themselves and continue to on a daily basis.

I pray we never forget how our ancestors sacrificed for us to be here now. As a Black person, it’s remarkable to even be alive if you consider in the inhumane atrocities committed against us for hundreds of years…and still today.

We inspire everyone else. But I hope we remain an inspiration to ourselves.

With the upmost Blackness,

Baddie5000
